The Salon
Share and Be Shared.

The Salon is the heart of the Hollow. It is where conversations, ideas, and community thrive. It includes our journal exchange, our events, and how we connect with our people, but also where we introduce you to them too.

We are all inclusive, diverse, and immersive. We want others to share ideas, hopes, and dreams within our walls. We believe that connectivity is essential.

A Hallowed Collection…

Buy it. Write in it. Send it home. Someone will find it.

The Journal Exchange is a living library of shared stories. You start a journal, someone else continues it, and over time it travels through Richmond collecting notes, secrets, memories, love letters, and little pieces of people’s lives.

Choose Your Journal

  • The Wanderer
For travel notes, Richmond discoveries, road stories, and restless hearts.

  • The Lover
For love letters, missed connections, tender thoughts, and handwritten hope.

  • The Revealer
For secrets, confessions, truth-telling, and things you needed somewhere to put.

How It Works

  1. Purchase a numbered journal at The Hollow or a pop-up. That number is yours to begin.

  2. Write your entry, no rush—this is about honesty.

  3. Scan the QR code inside the cover to check it out. Members log in; non-members pay a small fee.

  4. Once checked out, the journal is yours to continue. Add your chapter.

  5. When ready, return the journal to The Hollow or any Ambassador Station.

  6. It continues its journey, and when full, it returns to The Hollow shelf—forever part of the story or as an heirloomed keepsake.

Ambassador Stations

Our journals may also appear at select Richmond coffee shops, bookstores, studios, and local hideaways. Scan the QR code inside the cover to log the journal’s stop, add your entry, and help keep its story moving.
